Overview
A Letter from the Country tells the story of Janie, an evacuee who is separated from her parents and packed off to live with strangers in the countryside to escape the dangers of bomb-blitzed London.

This touching and light-hearted tale is full of humour and highlights various aspects of WWII including the importance of rationing, air-raid drills and make-do and mend. This is suitable for KS1 and 2.

Benefits to Children's Learning & Development
This production enables pupils to discover how it felt to be an evacuee during WWII and gives them the opportunity to gain an insight into this particular period of history.  This show is a great way to kick off a topic on WWII.

We feel that learning about our past is hugely important to a child’s development. Studying history improves decision-making and judgement skills and teaches youngsters how to learn from the mistakes of others. It gives them a context from which to understand themselves and other people.

PALS history productions are designed to give students a fresh enthusiasm for history subjects.
